About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist radiologists with imaging procedures to ensure diagnostic quality and patient comfort and safety
- Perform radiography of patients in all assigned areas
- Provide timely and proper patient service during unsupervised shifts
- Document exams and related procedures using RIS/PACS and patient charts as necessary
- Clean, restock, and prepare rooms daily
- Attend hospital and departmental meetings and in-services
- Practice excellent customer service behaviors
- Provide on-call coverage for the Diagnostic Section of Radiology
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2 years college certificate or equivalent
- NYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire
- If licensed after 2007, obtain American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT) within 1 year of hire
- New graduates must provide an official transcript from an accredited school or a letter from the school’s registrar confirming program completion
- Primary source education verification required within 90 days of start date
- BLS Certification preferred
- Radiologic Technologist experience preferred
- Ability to work days/evenings Monday–Friday and weekends on variable 8–12 hour shifts
- Ability to perform patient-facing clinical work involving standing, walking, lifting 20–50 lbs., pushing and pulling medical equipment, and assisting with patient positioning
- Ability to meet physical and environmental demands including bending, twisting, reaching, fine motor tasks, and exposure to infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation
