About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide nursing care for patients at Rochester Regional Health Urgent/Immediate Care centers
  • Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments using physical, psychological, educational, and risk-screen data
  • Exercise clinical judgment in responding to priority patient needs
  • Communicate and document patient assessments with the interdisciplinary team
  • Develop and document individualized plans of care, treatment, and services
  • Deliver care, treatment, and services in collaboration with the interdisciplinary health team
  • Maintain appropriate nurse-patient relationships
  • Follow organizational policies, procedures, and protocols for safety, medication administration, and documentation
  • Initiate and document patient and family education plans using the teach-back method
  • Evaluate and document patient responses to care and revise plans of care as needed
  • Lead care delivery through communication, collaboration, and leadership
  • Delegate responsibilities to assigned nurses and ancillary staff
  • Participate in unit-level problem-solving and performance improvement activities
  • Complete clinical research utilization documentation using a recent U.S.-based research article
  • Provide training and precepting for new team members
  • Demonstrate evidence-based practice and identify performance improvement opportunities
  • Maintain compliance with continuing education, mandatory in-services, health screens, and BLS certification

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Registered Nurse license in New York State
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Emergency Department and/or Family Medicine experience strongly preferred
  • ED, ICU, or other recent critical care experience strongly preferred
  • Completion of mandatory in-services and health screens in a timely manner
  • Maintenance of BLS certification
  • Ability to perform continual movement, including standing, walking, lifting 20–50 lbs., pushing and pulling medical equipment, and assisting with patient positioning
  • Ability to perform frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and fine motor tasks
  • High sensory acuity for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure, respond to emergencies, and maintain sustained focus
  • Compliance with TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams as applicable
