About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Talk with independent freight agents and observe their workflows, economics, and pain points
  • Decide what to build next with the Product Lead
  • Design and ship complete full-stack features, including interfaces, APIs, and data models
  • In some cases, define and ship interfaces while partnering with the founding engineer responsible for AI agents
  • Get work into production quickly, observe usage, and iterate based on outcomes
  • Establish shared components, interface patterns, and visual language
  • Use AI for research, prototyping, design exploration, coding, and testing
  • Help determine where AI should be incorporated into the product
  • Share ownership of product direction and implementation with the Product Lead and two Founding Engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Full-stack capability: independently take features from data model through interface and handle edge cases
  • Experience building tools for professionals, such as dashboards, admin tools, internal operations software, or vertical SaaS
  • Product judgment demonstrated through shipped work, including understanding user goals, evaluating approaches, and explaining design decisions
  • Deeply AI-native working style and ability to explain an actual AI-assisted workflow, including limitations
  • Strong user curiosity and willingness to observe users at work rather than guess requirements
  • High ownership and commitment to customer outcomes
  • Background as a full-stack engineer with product experience, or as a design engineer with backend depth / backend engineer with strong UI instincts and taste
