About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support benefits administration, including enrollment, benefits questions, open enrollment, and ongoing administration
  • Support full-cycle recruiting by posting requisitions, scheduling interviews, coordinating with hiring managers, and supporting offer logistics
  • Own onboarding and offboarding administration, including paperwork, systems setup, background checks, exit processes, and payroll updates
  • Process and support payroll coordination for hourly and salaried employees and 1099 contractors
  • Own HRIS system changes, coding updates, and payroll tax setup for state and local tax codes
  • Follow software product changes and flag change considerations to HR leadership
  • Assist with HR reporting, headcount tracking, and ad hoc HR projects
  • Maintain accurate personnel files and HR system data confidentially
  • Support compliance administration, including 5500 filing deadlines, I-9 documentation, and required postings
  • Assist with safety compliance, training, and OSHA tracking/reporting
  • Perform office administrative duties, including ordering office supplies and managing office maintenance tickets
  • Partner closely with the Head of Human Resources, leadership, Finance, HRIS/payroll providers, hiring managers, and the Safety Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in HR, Communications, Administrative or likeminded arena
  • 3+ years of professional experience in an HR generalist, HR coordinator, or HR specialist role
  • Experience with the benefits admin function and preparing open-enrollment census data for benefits
  • Experience with full-cycle internal recruiting
  • Working knowledge of payroll processes, benefits administration, and core HR compliance requirements (I-9, wage & hour basics, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA)
  • Technically comfortable with HRIS/ATS software platforms
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new HR software, systems, and skills quickly
  • Practical use of AI tools such as Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, and similar platforms
  • Excellent attention to detail and discretion handling confidential employee information
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred
  • ADP and Paylocity experience preferred
  • Experience supporting both W-2 employees and 1099 contractors is preferred
