About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with custom Low Voltage Motor Control Center (LVMCC) solutions for customers across a wide range of industries.
  • Manage multiple projects with varying milestones.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Commercial Engineering, Development Engineering, Manufacturing, and Tech Support.
  • Complete sales orders and electrical and mechanical design.
  • Provide bills of material (BOM) for manufacturing.
  • Assist with productivity or tools enhancement projects.
  • Review and understand customer specifications and drawings.
  • Interface with customers on technical and commercial aspects of orders.
  • Resolve and document exceptions and questions.
  • Develop knowledge of Rockwell products and communicate their benefits for specific applications.
  • Create and/or modify electrical schematics.
  • Create and/or modify mechanical models of electrical component assemblies.
  • Provide final factory build documents, including BOMs.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing on build instructions and technical issues.
  • Support manufacturing with issues encountered during the build process.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; Rockwell Automation will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Pursuing a mechanical, electrical, biomedical, or similar degree from an accredited college or university
  • Must be enrolled for at least one more semester of school after the internship concludes (graduation date of December 2027 or later)
  • Local or attending school in the greater Milwaukee area (within 50 miles from the Headquarter location)
  • Potential to stay on part-time throughout the school year (in-person)
  • Experience with PLCs, CAD, schematic design, Ladder Logic, SolidWorks, and Studio 5000
  • Experience communicating engineering support, updates, and resolutions to customers and other partners.
  • Comfort with or desire to work in a customer-facing role
  • Willingness to learn both electrical and mechanical disciplines to provide a complete solution for customers
