About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive the full lifecycle management of network architecture, including planning, design, deployment, operations, and decommissioning
  • Develop and maintain a framework for network health assessments, upgrades, and retirement planning
  • Optimize lifecycle processes to minimize downtime and support future scale
  • Coordinate with automation teams to leverage automation tools and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment
  • Assist in developing and maintaining network-as-code solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business units to integrate network automation into IT, cloud, and DevOps strategies
  • Lead proactive bug scrub processes and prevent network issues
  • Establish continuous improvement procedures based on root cause analysis and performance monitoring
  • Troubleshoot and remediate complex network issues
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advocate for network lifecycle management best practices
  • Mentor peers and influence stakeholders
  • Develop high-level and detailed network architecture designs and diagrams
  • Coordinate with Network Security to ensure designs and configurations meet business, regulatory, and security requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related fields
  • 10+ years of experience in designing and managing enterprise network infrastructures with a focus on lifecycle management
  • Expertise in network protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF
  • Expertise in SD-WAN
  • Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, and F5 platforms
  • Advanced certification: CCIE-EI
  • Proficiency in network automation tools and scripting: Python, Ansible
  • Strong understanding of network DevOps methodology, including CI/CD integration
  • Demonstrated success in managing bug scrubs and implementing preventative solutions
  • Strong technical writing skills for planned and corrective process documentation and lifecycle activities
  • Preferred: experience in hybrid cloud networking with Azure
  • Preferred: familiarity with ITIL processes and Agile project management
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to distill information from disparate data sources
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to question partners across functional areas
