About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the Supplier Development Engineering team, including workload distribution, while managing personal Supplier Development Projects
- Establish team goals and priorities and ensure commitments are met
- Partner with Strategic Sourcing, ensure alignment with RASCII, set strategy and standard processes, and conduct performance evaluations and feedback
- Lead development projects at critical and strategic suppliers
- Develop and onboard new suppliers to Rockwell's requirements and capability expectations
- Improve existing suppliers in quality, cost, and technology
- Manage Rockwell employees and supplier personnel
- Train suppliers on Rockwell expectations and requirements through in-person, lecture-style, or virtual sessions
- Lead development projects across diverse manufacturing commodities
- Consult on supplier audits and perform targeted audits for specific processes when necessary
- Communicate with suppliers and monitor and evaluate supplier performance during development projects
- Promote partnership between suppliers and engineering
- Liaise and align with Sourcing and Product Quality throughout the supplier development lifecycle
- Consult and inform SQEs and Strategic Sourcing regularly, and consult Engineering and Lean Enterprise
- Conduct data-driven quality assurance planning and use predictive insights to identify improvement opportunities
- Provide guidance in supplier quality assessment and audit, supplier quality risk management, process control evaluation/approval, part qualification, regulatory interpretation, and policy and procedure understanding
- Provide technical guidance in risk management, measurement systems analysis, process capability analysis, process control design, cybersecurity, and intelligent component/software development
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree
- Must have legal authorization to work in the US
- Minimum 8 years of experience in areas of manufacturing, engineering, or quality
- Lead teams
- Supplier performance management or continuous improvement
- Lean 6 Sigma
- Black Belt certification and Project Management Professional certification
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
- People coaching/leadership experience
- Strategic thought processes
- Experience with manufacturing environments, process flows, engineering and technical documentation
- Familiarity with high-level QMS requirements from Rockwell, governmental and regulatory agencies, and customers
- Understanding of Supplier Quality Assessment and Audit, Supplier Quality Risk Management, Process Control Evaluation/Approval, Part Qualification Process, and Regulatory Interpretation
- Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, Measurement Systems Analysis, Process Capability Analysis, and Process Control Design
- Knowledge of cybersecurity standards such as ISA/IEC62443 and intelligent component/software, HW/ESW/SW development
