About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a point of contact for employees at all levels
- Manage day-to-day HR activities and serve as a point of contact for payroll processing
- Oversee the entire payroll process, including wages, bonuses, overtime, and deductions
- Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations
- Track and document mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, work assessments, licenses, exams, and certifications
- Collaborate with department managers to identify skills and competencies required for openings
- Post and recruit for openings, screen resumes, and facilitate hiring
- Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications
- Implement new-hire orientation and employee recognition programs
- Administer compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, productivity, morale, occupational health and safety, and training and development programs
- Handle employment-related inquiries and refer complex or sensitive matters to the VP Human Resources
- Participate in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Review policies and practices and recommend compliance best practices
- Maintain knowledge of HR, talent management, employment law trends, regulatory changes, and technologies
- Generate internal documents such as offer letters and compensation notices
- Create onboarding plans and educate new hires on HR policies, procedures, and regulations
- Maintain physical and digital employee files, benefits records, and attendance records
- Create employee engagement plans, obtain budget approval, and initiate activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- SHRM certification a plus
- 3+ years of experience working in the human resources field
- Extensive knowledge of ADP and payroll processing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
- Ability to develop and manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
- High level of customer service skills
- Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the classification, including appropriate mobility, balance, coordination, vision, hearing, and dexterity
- Occasional travel to properties
