About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and support daily departmental workflows, including prioritization, scheduling support, and team activity alignment
  • Provide guidance on processes, procedures, eligibility requirements, and patient-related workflows
  • Escalate issues and support resolution of complex coverage, authorization, documentation, eligibility, and workflow situations
  • Perform DME liaison responsibilities as needed, including insurance verification, eligibility determination, financial responsibility review, and patient education
  • Assist with orientation, onboarding, and ongoing associate training
  • Support leadership with workflow tracking, work organization, and operational demand awareness
  • Assist with purchase orders and related operational documentation
  • Monitor workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Fit products and educate patients on application, use, care, and expected outcomes
  • Track, maintain, and order inventory for one or multiple locations
  • Promote relationships with departments, case managers, payers, suppliers, physician clinical staff, and surgery personnel
  • Post DME charges and maintain compliance documentation
  • Train employees on DME processes and procedures
  • Clean and stock equipment
  • Greet patients and respond to patient, physician, and team member needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or equivalent (required)
  • BLS Basic Life Support certification required at hire for RSFH
  • Ability to provide fitting and patient education for durable medical equipment
  • Ability to educate patients on insurance plans, financial responsibility, and collection of patient portions
  • Ability to obtain documentation and authorization for payer requirements
  • Ability to track, maintain, and order inventory
  • Ability to document custom measurements, ABNs, MAEs, and LMNs as needed
  • Ability to work with DMEPOS Coordinators and Billing Specialists
  • Knowledge of blood borne pathogen, OSHA, safety, and other governmental regulations
  • Excellent oral, active listening, and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks
  • Willingness to learn technical product and clinical competency
  • Must exercise universal precautions and use personal protective equipment
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting/carrying up to 100 lbs., pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs., standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing
  • NATABOC Athletic Trainer License, CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or NRCMA may be held (preferred)
  • 1 year durable medical equipment experience (preferred)
