About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Implement and evaluate education plans and programs developed from annual educational needs assessments
  • Establish collaborative relationships with operational leaders and staff on educational and professional nursing practice initiatives
  • Support the Nursing Excellence journey toward ANCC Magnet and Pathways to Excellence designation
  • Implement system nursing education and professional development programs under the direction of the market practice and education leader
  • Support evidence-based practice and nursing research efforts across assigned departments and facilities
  • Deliver orientation and onboarding, RN Residency, and preceptor programs
  • Apply the nursing process, adult learning principles, teaching/learning theories, and age-appropriate teaching strategies
  • Provide staff education and preceptor support and development, including coaching and mentoring
  • Design learning programs and integrate learning technology for effective learning experiences and competency assessment and validation
  • Instruct others according to nursing professional and specialty standards, organizational policies, state Boards of Nursing, and regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • Use data to monitor and report program performance and improvement efforts
  • Partner with leadership and clinical stakeholders to implement clinical education and professional development programs
  • Advocate for clinical learning content and resources that support evidence-based contemporary practice competencies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4 year/ Bachelors Degree Nursing Required
  • Registered Nurse from an accredited program
  • 5 years clinical experience required for Roper St Francis Healthcare
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and clinical information systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Nursing Professional Development Practice Model
  • Knowledge of education concepts and processes for assessment, development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of adult learning
  • Knowledge of ANCC Magnet or Pathways to Excellence Program requirements preferred
  • Graduate Degree (Masters) preferred
  • Professional development certification preferred
  • Ability to travel long-distance or by air as needed, not exceeding 10% travel
  • Required to drive to off-site locations, occasionally in adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to exercise universal precautions and use personal protective equipment
