About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment
  • Identify and prioritize patients’ problems and needs

  • Complete orientation initially at Roper Hospital downtown; subsequent work location depends on departmental needs between Berkeley and Roper

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • RN pathway: Associate of Nursing, nursing (required) OR Diploma in Nursing (required)
  • RN pathway: Valid nursing license from the state of practice (required)
  • RN pathway: BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)
  • EP Tech pathway: BLS Basic Life Support (required)
  • EP Tech pathway: Advanced cardiac life support by end of orientation period (required)
  • EP Tech pathway: Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist with experience in Electrophysiology (required)
  • EP Tech pathway: PALS (required if pediatric lab)
  • Prior EP, Cath, ED, ICU, or procedural experience preferred by manager
  • RN pathway: Bachelor of Science in nursing preferred
  • EP Tech pathway: Completion of Cardiovascular Technology program preferred
  • EP Tech pathway: No EP Tech work experience required
  • Knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and future innovations
  • Nursing judgment and skill based on biological, physical, behavioral, and social sciences
  • Application of the nursing process in patient care delivery
  • Coordination and evaluation of patient care
  • Health teaching and health promotion
  • Patient advocacy and partnership
