About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide advanced-level technical engineering support for applicable codes, industry standards, best practices, and underlying engineering/physics aspects of projects and tasks
  • Apply advanced electrical engineering knowledge to power distribution, protection, control, lighting, grounding, energy conservation, and value engineering
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in specialty areas
  • Provide advanced technical support across Rosendin Engineering competencies
  • Mentor engineers and develop their expertise
  • Oversee solutions to significant technical challenges and present them to engineers and designers
  • Identify and onboard individuals with comparable expertise
  • Visit job sites to survey existing electrical conditions and gather detailed information
  • Use power analyzers, relay test sets, signal generators, and software for digital relays, programmable controllers, and intelligent devices
  • Quality-control design documents for technical and code compliance, including layouts, studies, specifications, BODs, SOOs, control diagrams, and control point-to-points
  • Conduct value engineering functions
  • Generate detailed specifications for complex equipment and systems
  • Support equipment and system testing and commissioning
  • Resolve complex design, materials, and coordination problems
  • Work primarily indoors, with occasional jobsite work and physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Fluency with applicable codes and standards
  • Working knowledge of energy efficiency requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Four-year degree from an accredited university or college in engineering, architectural engineering, or construction sciences
  • Minimum of 8 years of Engineering Experience, typically combining education, training, and relevant experience
  • Registration as a US-based Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering, including power distribution, power system protection, automation and control, BMS and SCADA systems, backup generation, large-scale UPS, lighting, grounding, energy conservation, value engineering, applicable codes, and standards
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and coordinate with others
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex engineering problems
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and effective team player
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with employees, management, vendors, clients, and others
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
