About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee a team of engineers, designers, and staff on projects or individual initiatives
  • Serve as Engineer of Record for assigned projects
  • Supervise, review, comment on, and process equipment and system submittals
  • Coordinate with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical trades
  • Oversee designs for power, lighting, and auxiliary systems
  • Prepare power system single-line diagrams, feeder and overcurrent protection sizing, and equipment elevations
  • Conduct or supervise short-circuit, overcurrent protection coordination, and Arc Flash studies
  • Conduct or supervise distribution analysis, including voltage drop, voltage droop, and underground heat-effect calculations
  • Oversee project specifications and equipment buy-out
  • Visit job sites to survey existing electrical conditions
  • Use engineering analysis programs and professional judgment to analyze loads, lighting levels, and short-circuit currents
  • Conduct value-engineering exercises to evaluate construction costs
  • Attend design-team meetings and interface with clients, architects, and mechanical contractors/engineers
  • Coordinate design criteria, budget issues, and deliverable schedules with the Rosendin Project Manager
  • Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and installation errors
  • Generate project specifications and sequences of operations
  • Support equipment and system testing and commissioning
  • Perform electrical engineering work for high-tech, mission-critical, health industry, commercial, industrial, high-rise residential, and other facilities
  • Review plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates
  • Coordinate projects with city, state, county officials, and outside agencies
  • Oversee plans and specifications, schedules, and electrical engineering work
  • Prepare building commissioning documentation
  • Resolve complex design, materials, coordination, and technical issues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architectural engineering, or construction sciences
  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of Engineering Experience
  • One-year on-site field experience strongly encouraged
  • Licensure as a US-based Professional Engineer is required
  • Combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering subjects, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, energy conservation, value engineering, applicable codes, and standards
  • Proficient in Autodesk, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), Illumination software, and Oracle software pertaining to Engineering Productivity and CAC generation
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with employees, management, vendors, clients, and others
  • Travel up to 50%, excluding local field visits
  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
