About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan and organize projects under the direction of a Senior Project Manager and/or Division Manager
- Supervise and direct project activities, including assigning tasks to Assistant Project Managers
- Plan, coordinate, and resolve project problem areas
- Maintain company and project policies, procedures, and standards
- Establish initial client contact and assess project scope, schedule, and required resources
- Prepare complete project estimates through detailed review of plans, specifications, and bid forms
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate guidelines
- Supervise and negotiate project change orders
- Monitor construction activities with the onsite Foreman and Area Superintendent to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget
- Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures under supervision
- Prepare change quotations for presentation to the prime client and assist with negotiations
- Prepare monthly costing reports under Senior Project Manager or Division Manager supervision
- Manage contract financial aspects, including progress billing, rental equipment, income, and expenses
- Review documentation prepared by Assistant Project Managers before submission
- Represent the company in project meetings under the guidance of a PM II or Senior Project Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance
- Effective performance management skills
- Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Accubid and Oracle preferred
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude
- Oral and written communication skills as required for the position
- Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with employees, management, staff, vendors, clients, and others
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or another related discipline preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the construction industry in a Project Management role
- Training, education, and relevant work experience may be combined
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Ability to work primarily on active construction sites
- Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
