About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Directly support electrical construction projects at jobsites or with regular onsite presence
  • Provide technical engineering design, consultation, information, and assistance under the Engineering Team Lead or Manager
  • Oversee or collaborate with assigned Designers
  • Review, comment on, and process equipment and system submittals
  • Review, comment on, and process project requests for information (RFIs)
  • Assist senior engineers with field observations, design interpretations, and construction design updates
  • Support site field and project management teams with drawing interpretation, conflicts, interferences, and errors
  • Coordinate architectural, structural, low voltage/communications, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical processes
  • Prepare or update power, lighting, and auxiliary system designs
  • Develop or update power single-line diagrams
  • Review short circuit studies and verify overcurrent protection device settings in the field
  • Coordinate project specifications and equipment buy-out
  • Participate in project team meetings and interface with team members, architects, and mechanical contractors/engineers
  • Work with the engineering supervisor on design criteria and budgetary issues
  • Assist with reviewing plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, architectural engineering, construction sciences, or equivalent experience
  • Combination of education, training, and relevant experience accepted
  • Ability to learn Engineering Analytic programs for short circuits, over current coordination, and arc flash mitigation, e.g., SKM, E-Tap, etc.
  • Familiarity with codes and energy efficiency requirements
  • Ability to learn and become competent in Autodesk, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), and Illuminance software
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under the supervisor's direction
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing requirements
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally
  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
  • Position requires 100% travel and is based on project jobsites
