About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide overall direction, completion, and financial oversight for projects of varying scope
  • Mentor Project Assistants and Project Managers I and II
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards
  • Prepare clear work statements for field teams
  • Negotiate and supervise preparation of project change orders
  • Liaise with primary clients and architects/engineers to facilitate construction activities
  • Support onsite construction activities with the Foreman and Area Superintendent
  • Ensure projects are built on schedule and within budget
  • Anticipate and prevent serious situations and implement corrective measures
  • Represent the company and project in meetings with clients and subcontractors
  • Prepare monthly costing reports
  • Manage contract financials, including progress billing, rental equipment, income, and expenses
  • Develop new business opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or another related discipline preferred
  • PE license a plus
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in project management, preferably in electrical construction
  • Knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods
  • Combination of education, training, and relevant experience accepted
  • Proven experience mentoring and managing others
  • Business development/heavy client interaction a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Oracle and Accubid preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements
  • Oral and written communication skills required for the position
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and effective team player
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with employees, management, staff, vendors, clients, and others
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
