About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead enterprise-wide procurement strategy for technology-related spend, including software, hardware, cloud services, telecommunications, cybersecurity, AI solutions, professional services, and digital transformation initiatives
  • Lead negotiations for complex, multi-million-dollar technology agreements, optimizing cost, pricing models, quality, licensing, commercial terms, service levels, contractual protections, and total cost of ownership
  • Formulate and execute procurement category strategies using market intelligence, supplier capabilities, business priorities, and industry best practices
  • Establish governance and risk-mitigation processes and ensure compliance across technology procurement activities
  • Partner with technology teams, finance, legal, executives, and external procurement partners to understand requirements, forecast needs, manage budgets, and optimize investments
  • Deliver value creation of approximately 5–10% of annual spend under management
  • Advise executive leadership on technology sourcing, supplier strategy, and commercial optimization
  • Lead and develop a Global Technology Procurement team of 20 people through coaching, mentoring, and talent development
  • Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor category performance, supplier compliance, and operational effectiveness
  • Drive continuous improvement, process automation, digital-tool adoption, and data analytics to improve procurement efficiency
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships and establish executive governance with technology suppliers
  • Track procurement ROI and communicate business impact to executive leadership
  • Identify and mitigate supply-chain, quality, contractual, cybersecurity, privacy, regulatory, and compliance risks
  • Manage the procurement budget and implement cost-control measures
  • Monitor industry developments, emerging technologies, and sustainable practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, Technology, Engineering or related field required
  • 15+ years of progressive procurement experience with a strong focus on technology categories, including software, hardware, cloud services, IT consulting, and telecommunications
  • Proven track record leading complex sourcing initiatives and negotiating large-scale technology agreements
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets
  • Experience leading procurement teams in a global, matrixed environment
  • Strong understanding of technology markets, standards, regulations, and specifications
  • Proven track record in strategic sourcing, category management, vendor management, and cost optimization with a TCO perspective
  • Ability to lead cross-cultural and remote teams effectively
  • Exceptional leadership capability with proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change
  • Strategic thinking with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Integrity, innovation, and commitment to continuous process improvement
  • Results-oriented approach focused on operational excellence
  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • CPM, CPSM, or equivalent procurement certifications are a plus
  • Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems such as Oracle, Coupa, and SAP Ariba, plus data and AI analytics tools or similar platforms preferred
