About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handle inbound sales and service telephone calls from travel partners and/or direct guests
- Assist customers with pricing and availability searches and service existing reservations
- Answer customer inquiries or direct them to the appropriate resource
- Provide information about Royal Caribbean products, services, and promotions
- Quote prices and availability, including cross-selling and up-selling
- Secure bookings
- Service existing bookings by changing reservations, accepting and recording payments, and arranging guest preferences
- Research and provide information to accommodate special needs
- Enter required information into Royal Caribbean systems and maintain accurate reservation and transaction histories
- Use multiple database systems, internal computer programs, and computer-based resources
- Conduct basic research to resolve problems and communicate solutions
- Escalate non-routine matters to the appropriate Royal Caribbean resource
- Comply with company protocols, procedures, and quality assurance standards
- Attend required training and complete online virtual training courses
- Participate in special projects and employee committees as assigned
- Perform other job-related duties assigned by supervisors or management
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma required; associate degree preferred
- Minimum of six months customer service experience
- Ability to accurately perform text and numeric data entry at a rate of at least 35 wpm from spoken and printed sources
- Effective spoken and written communication skills with internal and external customers
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment
- Decision-making skills and ability to assess situations and make mutually beneficial decisions within established guidelines
- Sales skills, including positioning products to meet customer needs
- Ability to perform arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to understand and explain promotions, basic accounting, commissions, and payments
- Demonstrated ability to use internal computer software and web-based resources
- Ability to learn and use multiple systems to complete job functions
- Ability to comply with internal policies, guidelines, and conduct standards
