About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and manage construction projects from inception to completion
  • Ensure project timelines, budgets, quality standards, and specifications are met
  • Coordinate construction activities with onsite stakeholders
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor progress
  • Provide leadership and direction to onsite construction teams and manage daily operations
  • Identify potential issues or delays and implement solutions
  • Communicate with stakeholders through regular project updates and address concerns or requests
  • Conduct site visits and monitor construction progress
  • Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and other project resources
  • Manage contracts, change orders, reports, records, and weekly project reports
  • Ensure contractor compliance when using company accommodations
  • Monitor contractor arrivals and departure requests onsite; obtain project manager approval for arrivals
  • Collaborate with the Director of Island Projects and Innovation on project scopes and tasks
  • Develop, manage, adjust, and track project budgets and report project costs to stakeholders
  • Provide detailed cost breakdowns for labor, materials, and other project expenses
  • Perform duties according to Royal Caribbean International brand standards, company policies, SOPs, and public health, safety, security, and environmental guidelines
  • Interact daily with internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is required
  • At least 5 years of experience in construction project management
  • Proven track record of successfully completing projects on time and within budget
  • Experience managing large-scale construction projects, preferably in international or remote locations
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools, such as Procore, MS Project, and Bluebeam
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, with extended stays in the Bahamas as required
  • Ability to perform the stated physical demands, with or without reasonable accommodation
