About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and compose workflows on the AiVA orchestration canvas
- Reuse catalogue skills and build custom skills where genuine capability gaps exist
- Design prompts, workflows, tool integrations, and evaluation harnesses
- Rapidly build, test, demonstrate, and refine skills during initial deployment
- Instrument skills for observability, evaluation, and continuous quality measurement
- Design guardrails and safety patterns for client testing and production load
- Own skill quality, functional correctness, evaluation coverage, integration behavior, and deployment readiness
- Present custom skills and workflows to the change board for design approval
- Work as a dedicated member of the multidisciplinary delivery team through sustained delivery
- Partner with the Technical Lead on architecture and build execution
- Translate requirements with the Business Analyst and understand domain processes with the Operations SME
- Demonstrate working skills live to client stakeholders, including senior operational and technical audiences
- Coordinate with the Integration Engineer on data pipelines, upstream systems, and deployment infrastructure
- Provide technical input on scope, value, feasibility, timelines, and platform limits
- Develop deep AiVA platform fluency and contribute to platform tooling
- Share knowledge with the AI Workflow Engineer community
- Contribute reusable patterns, prompt templates, and evaluation frameworks to the platform capability library
- Mentor newer AI Workflow Engineers
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, data protection, security standards, and AiVA governance
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of software engineering, applied AI or machine learning, or automation platform development experience
- Demonstrated experience building production-quality AI applications, including prompt engineering, tool integration, and evaluation
- Familiarity with modern LLM APIs, agent frameworks, and orchestration platforms
- Willingness to develop deep AiVA platform fluency rapidly
- Experience working in client-facing or client-adjacent delivery roles preferred
- Comfortable presenting technical work to senior audiences
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain technical decisions to non-technical audiences
- Comfortable working across geographies and time zones (US, UK, EMEA clients)
- Operational or process-oriented background highly desirable
- Experience working in, alongside, or embedded with an operational team
- Exposure to how workflows run, including where they break
- Process mindset, including exception handling, handoffs, and human-in-the-loop patterns
- Comfortable modeling workflows as actually performed
- Comfortable working across geographies (US, UK, India) and across sectors including legal and professional services
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background and drug screen
- Ability to work in a client-facing, high-pressure environment
