About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Grow revenue across the labels business unit
  • Lead and motivate BDM and sales teams supporting the labels business
  • Partner with the national sales organization to grow existing-client business and identify new clients
  • Develop actionable sales plans based on market opportunities, client trends, platform capacity, and market demand
  • Manage sales teams to maximize capacity and profit
  • Grow the labels sales pipeline through cross-selling and new-business initiatives
  • Collaborate with finance, estimating, operations, procurement, sales, and marketing teams
  • Use the CRM tool to manage labels opportunities and identify current clients with potential labels-solution needs
  • Develop strategies for lead generation and connecting with new prospects
  • Own business-unit sales reporting data and prepare reports for senior management
  • Equip BDM and sales teams to navigate labels opportunities through selling, closure, and implementation
  • Keep current on new products, technical advisement, and resource allocation needed to win marketplace business
  • Achieve new-business growth goals based on revenue, pipeline, and new labels accounts landed during the budget year

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of consultative B2B sales experience in labels or a related industry
  • Demonstrated leadership of people and teams within a matrix organization
  • Business and financial acumen
  • Experience analyzing trends, pricing, and competitive programs
  • Ability to recommend design changes and process improvements
  • Understanding of labels specifications and materials
  • Ability to converse fluently at all contact levels within an organization, from Junior to C-level
  • Ability to apply market knowledge regarding competition, market share, and opportunities
  • Effective communication via email, phone, and face-to-face
  • Label industry knowledge, specifically RFID and Linerless Labels, or print knowledge and experience is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in a Business-related concentration
  • Microsoft Office and Google applications proficiency required
  • Willingness to travel 30–40%
  • Ability to work on-site at customer, office, manufacturing, or plant locations
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background and drug screen
  • Compliance with RRD's request to refrain from using AI tools during interviews
