About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review and prepare documents
- Create and edit legal documents to client specifications using applicable software
- Create spreadsheets, charts, graphs, mail merges, tables, presentations, and other documents
- Transcribe tapes, scan and clean documents, and convert documents between file formats
- Recover and restore corrupted document files when needed
- Handle sensitive and confidential documents and information
- Use document comparison software, red-lining, and general editing to correct legal documents
- Create complex formulas and functions to analyze data
- Intake client work requests, clarify job instructions, negotiate deadlines, and prioritize requests across the team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree preferred
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered when the degree is directly related to the functions of the job
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a legal document production environment preferred
- Proofreading experience preferred
- Expert knowledge of MS Excel, including spreadsheets, graphing, tables, calculations, and automation
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience formatting documents with Styles and generating a table of contents and table of authorities
- Strong keyboarding and typing skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment and as an independent operator
- Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
- Intermediate knowledge of grammar, spelling, and composition
