About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee daily operations of contract carriers, including contractor schedules, route monitoring, reports, and relationships with contract carriers and helpers
Develop and mentor staff to reach goals
Train staff on company policies and procedures
Interview, hire, discipline, and resolve issues
Ensure compliance with corporate warehouse policies, procedures, and programs
Supervise employees, plan and assign work, direct work, appraise performance, reward and discipline employees, and address complaints and problems
Use route planning software to build efficient delivery routes
Manage dispatch of contract carriers and resolve issues throughout the day
Identify problem areas and restructure routes to improve operational efficiencies
Train and develop contract carriers and dispatchers to meet and exceed customer expectations
Ensure work is completed accurately and within established time frames
Ensure photos are taken for every job
Allocate and request additional resources as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

5 years of related logistics and supervisory experience
Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
Availability to work a variety of shifts, including holidays, days, evenings, nights, and weekends
Occasional travel between branches and regions
Experience mentoring, training, and guiding newer/less-experienced team members
Strong business acumen with willingness to act in partnership with management teams
Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or similar is preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish, including reading, writing, and speaking both languages, is preferred
