About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist the project team in completing designated projects while learning Ryan processes, procedures, and business policies
  • Work from a construction project site for a minimum of six months and preferably for the duration of an entire construction project
  • Help generate Requests For Information (RFIs) and track approvals
  • Monitor and maintain shop drawing logs and shop drawing coordination
  • Learn project dimensional control requirements and field-verify dimensions to back-check the shop drawing approval process
  • Assist in coordinating and tracking vendor and subcontractor deliveries
  • Learn Ryan safety policies and procedures
  • Gain an understanding of overall site logistics
  • Participate in the city and jurisdictional permit inspection process
  • Keep office and jobsite plans updated with RFIs and ASIs
  • Accompany Ryan personnel and the Owner on punchlist inspections, record punchlist items, and monitor completion of punchlist work
  • Participate in preparing and updating the project schedule

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Position requires verification of employment to work in the U.S.
  • Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing
  • A bachelor's degree in a construction-related field is required
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Understanding of architectural and engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, and cost-coding systems
  • Ability to assume responsibility
  • Ability to interface and communicate effectively
