About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate and maintain existing policy information for accurate and appropriately priced renewals
  • Respond to client requests and questions about insurance products and underwriting appetite
  • Gather client information, resolve inquiries, and support a smooth underwriting process
  • Prepare and organize underwriting submission and policy issuance documentation
  • Assess risks for individual insurance applications using standard and substandard criteria
  • Support premium calculations and apply rates according to underwriting guidelines
  • Build and maintain reports on underwriting activities, KPIs, and relevant metrics
  • Conduct internal and external audits by providing underwriting documentation and information
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, guidelines, industry regulations, and standards
  • Collaborate with underwriting teams to relay information and coordinate tasks
  • Serve as key point of contact for customers and agents, resolving issues and delivering customer service

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Actuarial or Business Administration required; any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in Property and Casualty Underwriting
  • Must meet minimum requirements for state P&C and/or surplus line licenses
  • Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) is a plus
