About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, supervise, and support the accounting team
  • Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting transactions
  • Review and validate AP transactions, accruals, and account coding
  • Review data supporting excise tax filings
  • Review and validate monthly rent payment schedules, including rent, CAM, and related expenses
  • Oversee SG&A-related AP and AR activities
  • Coordinate and oversee month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations and resolve outstanding items
  • Calculate quarterly sales commission payouts and maintain related amortization schedules
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and completeness
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Partner with internal business teams to resolve accounting issues and provide guidance
  • Support compliance with company policies, internal controls, GAAP, and applicable accounting standards
  • Assist senior accounting management and upper management with special projects and financial analysis
  • Train, coach, and evaluate accounting associates
  • Approve weekly timecards for direct reports
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5-7+ years accounting experience
  • Previous supervisory or team-lead experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Workday, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar; Workday preferred
  • Experience with Blackline account reconciliation software preferred
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to meet month-end closing deadlines and manage multiple priorities
