About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise, coordinate and oversee day-to-day logistics operations
- Plan and review logistics processes with the Logistics Manager to ensure company standards and customer service specifications are met
- Establish work schedules and procedures and coordinate worker activities for optimal shift/team logistics
- Maintain accountability for site Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Collaborate with the customer on all aspects of operations
- Meet with team members to monitor progress, track performance, coach, counsel and recognize successes
- Promote team spirit, diversity and inclusion, cooperation and internal process improvements
- Conduct team member performance evaluations and recommend performance awards or merit increases
- Address performance problems through corrective action and disciplinary processes
- Understand labor agreements and maintain positive labor relations
- Implement health, safety and security initiatives and ensure adherence to company rules and policies
- Orient employees and Lead Hands and provide information, technology and materials necessary to perform their jobs
- Provide recommendations for improvements to the facility, equipment, machinery and processes
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- H.S. diploma/GED required
- One (1) year or more experience in transportation, warehouse or distribution environment preferred
- 0 to One (1) year direct supervisory/leadership experience required
