About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain the financial plan through effective vendor management and continuous review of costs and service improvements through Ryder RFP processes
  • Manage contracts and leases for Ryder facilities and ensure Ryder’s interests regarding operating expenses
  • Manage space and occupancy and design construction services for regional administrative facilities
  • Lead physical plant services for electrical, UPS, generators, HVAC, plumbing, data/voice wiring, and major computer center infrastructure
  • Lead exterior and interior landscaping and oversee the Environmental Services team
  • Manage facility-related contracts, including HVAC, waste management, elevator service, and other disciplines
  • Serve as team lead and vital member of the Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity program
  • Manage the Food Services Director and Business Dining Service provider staff
  • Manage day-to-day office services, including mail, copier management, shipping and receiving, and express mail services
  • Manage, approve, and ensure processing of facility business payables
  • Manage day-to-day security functions, including visitor access and security badge access
  • Remain on call 24x7 to ensure constant operation for employees, including a major call center and data center
  • Liaise with internal and external customers for meetings, training seminars, and catering
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • H.S. diploma/GED required
  • Five (5) years or more equal work experience required
  • Preferred experience in vendor management and team leadership of 11 sanitation staff
  • Skilled in food-grade audits (AIB/SQF), forklift repair, and mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and automotive tasks
  • Proficient in CMMS work order systems, reporting, and Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of multitasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices
  • Ability to recommend facility management to all levels of management of a large dynamic organization
  • Ability to blend, exchange and inspire service personnel
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with additional hours and days as needed and on call as needed
  • Ability to be on call 24x7 due to the critical nature of the facility
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
