About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Take design briefs, rough concepts, and product requirements and develop them into detailed 3D models with a clear path to production
  • Translate design intent into precise, buildable engineering
  • Create parts ready for injection molding, accounting for materials, tolerances, draft, wall thickness, and assembly
  • Design injection molds and work through production details
  • Run mold flow analysis to predict filling, cooling, and part performance, then refine designs
  • Build mockups and prototypes for early design review and testing
  • Iterate designs based on prototype feedback until product goals are met
  • Own projects from concept through revisions, validation, and production-ready designs
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams on practical production requirements
  • Ensure products are safe, reliable, and built to last
  • Review product performance in production and use, applying lessons to future designs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Hands-on experience designing medical-grade products or medical devices; mandatory for the role
  • 7–10 years of experience in product engineering or physical product design
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and Fusion 360
  • Hands-on experience designing parts and molds for injection molding
  • Experience running mold flow analysis and using the results to improve a design
  • Portfolio or examples of products designed and taken into production, with a clear explanation of contribution
  • Experience building mockups and prototypes and guiding a product through many rounds of iteration
  • Ability to listen closely to design requirements and execute on them with precision
  • Practical judgment balancing design intent with manufacturing constraints
  • Comfort working independently and owning projects end to end
  • Comfort receiving feedback, revising work, and staying aligned with an established product vision
  • Curiosity and willingness to build deep knowledge of the company, products, and customers
  • Follow-through and ability to manage multiple projects, prototypes, and deadlines
  • Background in mechanical engineering, industrial design, medical device development, or consumer product engineering
