Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze chemical value-chain market trends
  • Collate industry statistics and internal data to provide market insights
  • Update supply/demand balances, trade flows, operating schedules, and price forecasts
  • Research emerging markets, plants, and technologies
  • Model data and support data transformation
  • Develop and improve analytical models through modeling and analysis
  • Research chemical-industry technology, company information, consumption patterns, and drivers
  • Identify new data sources and statistically analyze results
  • Support subject-matter experts in developing and maintaining supply/demand balances, trade flows, and price forecasts
  • Write industry reports linked to the covered industry value chain
  • Author Chemical Economics Handbook reports using market knowledge and internal subject-matter expertise
  • Respond to client inquiries and provide expert insight on covered markets
  • Prepare client presentations and develop presentation skills
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure accurate and timely information and publications
  • Respond to client requests for data and analysis

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Up to 5 years of relevant experience in commodity markets; exposure to petrochemical markets considered a plus
  • Early-career professionals with an academic or professional background in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Economics, Finance, Business, or another numerate discipline, combined with relevant experience or demonstrated interest in the chemical industry
  • Ability to manipulate and present data
  • Expert Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Advanced Excel proficiency
  • Working knowledge of Power BI/Tableau, SQL and/or Python is a positive
  • Natural curiosity about energy, chemical markets and sustainability
  • Well-rounded communication skills, good listening techniques, concise writing style, strong verbal skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate across a wide range of internal and external groups and personalities
  • Flexibility to work in a global, multi-time-zone team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks for different stakeholders and adhere to regular deadlines
  • Ability to adjust priorities based on team goals
