About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and develop the Editorial, Design and Publishing team
  • Run the global team with day-to-day autonomy while upholding editorial integrity and high standards
  • Guide the team through strategic and operational change
  • Develop relationships with senior executives and stakeholders across S&P Global
  • Set team strategy, priorities, initiatives, projects and programs
  • Establish scorecards, OKRs and KPIs and report regularly to leadership and stakeholders
  • Drive workflow efficiencies and adoption of generative AI and automation opportunities
  • Align EDP with the wider Enterprise Data Organization
  • Partner with Data and Technology colleagues to deliver service efficiencies and enhanced value
  • Set, approve and monitor EDP budgets, including travel and expense and contractor spending
  • Lead talent, performance and location strategy for editorial and design job families
  • Act as a trusted partner to companywide stakeholders and divisional teams
  • Chair the S&P Global Editorial Council
  • Participate as a full member of the Data Excellence & Partnership leadership team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 15 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of 10 years in a senior leadership role overseeing editorial, analytical or journalistic teams in the financial industry
  • Robust understanding of journalistic and editorial best practices
  • Mastery of digital publishing
  • Keen understanding of editorial technology
  • Proven ability to lead a team through strategic and operational changes while maintaining high standards of integrity, quality, accountability, and execution
  • Ability to set strategy, define priorities, and troubleshoot complex initiatives, projects and programs across a matrixed organization
  • Ability to translate high-level ideas into executable targets and clear action plans
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to influence peers and stakeholders, in some cases without authority
  • Familiarity with and understanding of S&P Global’s business divisions, products, enterprise functions, editorial workflows and technology
