About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify and evaluate risks associated with AI technologies and applications
  • Review and develop standard operating procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with internal requirements and industry standards
  • Collaborate with IT, Legal, Compliance, second-line risk, commercial, and corporate teams
  • Establish dynamic monitoring to identify and address control deficiencies and ensure timely resolution
  • Report on controls, risks, policy adherence, and operational integrity
  • Develop and execute response plans for AI incidents, including data breaches and algorithmic failures
  • Build strategic relationships with stakeholders and senior management
  • Champion innovative control processes using technology and best practices
  • Regularly review and update risk management strategies and controls based on emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes
  • Help shape S&P Global Energy's AI control framework and safe, ethical AI deployment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 3 years of experience in a risk, compliance, or control-oriented function with experience with AI/technology infrastructure
  • Knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts, including algorithms, data handling, and ethical implications
  • Ability to simplify processes, identify risks, and drive automation and operational efficiency
  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
  • Ability to engage senior leaders
  • Ability to work effectively in a global fast-paced environment and appreciate diverse perspectives and cultural differences
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Business Administration, Cybersecurity, or AI-related disciplines
  • Preferred: Professional certification in Operational Risk Management, such as PRMIA ORM Certificate or ISO 31000
  • Preferred: GARP RAI (Risk and AI) Certificate
  • Preferred: Understanding of AI regulatory frameworks and standards, including GDPR and ISO standards
  • Preferred: Experience with project management methodologies and tools for AI-related projects
  • Preferred: Familiarity with data analytics tools, risk management software, and programming languages such as Python, R, C++, VBA, and SQL
  • Preferred: Knowledge of AI ethics, bias mitigation, and accountability governance frameworks
  • Preferred: Understanding of Data IP business or industries
