Provide in-depth coverage of US natural gas utilities and related subsectors
Cover gas demand connected to data center build-out
Report on evolving state and federal policies affecting natural gas demand
Cover infrastructure spending and corporate strategies
Analyze financial implications and the financial health of sector companies
Write clear, concise, and engaging news and analysis stories
Cover conference calls, corporate developments, and conferences
Interview executives, policymakers, and other key stakeholders
Develop and use data, analysis, and visuals to support reporting
Use AI tools for newsgathering, analysis, and data visualizations
Build readership among industry, regulatory, legal, and other decision-makers
Distribute reporting across S&P Global platforms including Capital IQ Pro and Platts' Core

Requirements

What you’ll need

2+ years of relevant experience in professional journalism, news reporting, energy sector coverage, or market-related analysis
Strong writing and reporting skills
Excellent news judgment
Ability to develop and execute story ideas
Ability to understand and translate dense policy and legal documents into easy-to-understand language
Knowledge of natural gas industry developments and trends
Demonstrated analytical and data visualization experience
Experience participating in panels, podcasts, and other media
Experience using AI tools for newsgathering and data analysis
Indefinite right to work in the United States
