About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead research and analysis on North American clean technology markets
- Track key developments, growth trends, and investment activity across mature and emerging technologies
- Produce market reports, thematic studies, forecasts, and thought leadership
- Analyze federal and state-level policies, incentives, regulatory frameworks, and market mechanisms influencing clean energy adoption and investment
- Evaluate market opportunities, deployment barriers, supply chain developments, commercialization pathways, and emerging industry risks
- Assess corporate strategies, business models, partnerships, and competitive dynamics across the clean technology ecosystem
- Engage directly with clients to discuss market developments, present research findings, and provide expert insight
- Support development of new research offerings and expand coverage of emerging technologies and market topics
- Collaborate across global research teams to deliver integrated perspectives on clean technology deployment, policy, and investment trends
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Public Policy, Energy Studies, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in energy, clean technology, market research, consulting, industry analysis, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of North American clean energy markets, including policy, regulatory, investment, and market dynamics
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written research and communicate complex ideas to senior industry audiences
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Strong presentation and client engagement skills
- Ability to represent S&P Global at industry events and client meetings
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across a global team
- Expertise in one or more clean technology sectors, such as solar, battery storage, wind, geothermal, hydrogen, advanced nuclear, carbon capture, or grid infrastructure
- Strong understanding of federal and state clean energy policies, permitting frameworks, and market design considerations
- Familiarity with investment trends, project development processes, supply chains, and commercialization strategies across the energy transition ecosystem
- Experience developing market forecasts, scenario analysis, or strategic assessments for clients and stakeholders
