About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary analytical spokesperson and counterpart for the Continental European financial institutions ecosystem
  • Deliver high-profile presentations on banking, non-bank financials, decentralized finance, and neobanks
  • Lead research on European banking trends and systemic risk
  • Chair the regional Analytical Oversight Credit Committee
  • Define strategic portfolio reviews and annual analytical priorities
  • Coach and mentor analysts
  • Collaborate across sectors, regions, and asset classes to share best practices and promote global analytical consistency
  • Lead forward-looking sector analysis using data, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled tools
  • Translate sector and issuer developments into decision-ready insights for internal and external audiences
  • Represent S&P Global Ratings in stakeholder engagements
  • Partner with Methodology teams and participate in global forums
  • Connect sector developments to forward-looking risk themes and produce insights for monitoring, research, and rating committee discussions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in credit analysis, financial research, or analytical leadership in financial services
  • Ability to translate complex financial and market developments into concise, evidence-based narratives
  • Ability to engage investors, regulators, and management teams on complex analytical topics with clarity and rigor
  • Experience coaching and mentoring analytical teams
  • Track record of building sector expertise, credit judgment, and modern analytical capabilities
  • Fluent English required
  • Fluent primary language of the country of application (German, French, Italian, Spanish, or Swedish) required
  • Experience with AI-enabled analytical tools and data-driven research methodologies in credit analysis or financial research is preferred/helpful
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
  • Master's degree or professional certification such as CFA highly valued
