About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Set up a full local environment and become fluent in the company's systems
Contribute to the design of a repeatable environment for analyzing anti-bot problems
Build an environment that reliably identifies how targets or providers block scraping and which techniques they use
Analyze anti-bot and bot-mitigation systems such as DataDome, Cloudflare Turnstile, Kasada, PerimeterX, and Akamai
Design systems and approaches to work around anti-bot mechanisms
Turn isolated breakthroughs into durable, repeatable testing processes
Collaborate with senior engineers to design and build a greenfield agentic environment for testing anti-bot behavior and bypass approaches
Work independently on complex problems while drawing on knowledge from the wider engineering team
Communicate plans clearly and support major incidents with deep technical expertise

Requirements

What you’ll need

Deep understanding of HTTP, TLS, fingerprinting, proxies, headers, cookies, and browser behaviour
Excellent problem-solving using a scientific, methodical approach
Strong hands-on skills in Node.js and TypeScript
Solid Python skills
Experience with backend systems at scale, including Postgres, Redis/Valkey, MongoDB, Puppeteer/Camoufox, and Kubernetes
Ability to direct AI coding agents precisely and evaluate their output
Background in scraping, anti-bot or web-security work, reverse engineering, or research/academic tooling development
Independence and strong communication in a remote-first team
Direct scraping experience is a strong plus, not a strict requirement
