About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as a technical expert, lead, and architect on large and complex projects
Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain complex web-based application systems, including user interfaces, e-commerce applications, and integrations
Troubleshoot and solve complicated software issues
Research technical problems and suggest improvements for web applications
Analyze and integrate new web products and technologies with existing web applications
Lead the team in design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of new software and significant enhancements
Define system architecture, design, and documentation
Define and adhere to SAE International development standards, including naming conventions, source code control, security protocols, and code deployment processes
Manage priorities across multiple assigned projects
Assist with project planning by providing estimates, task definitions, and SDLC progress updates
Interact directly with customers regarding requested improvements and enhancements
Assist in training and mentoring less experienced developer team members
Manage and perform code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and tools

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related major
10 years of experience in a hands-on software engineering role using Java, including Spring
Must have previously earned at least one AWS certification
At least 2 years of experience in a Team Lead role
At least 8 years of experience with microservice or distributed computing services
At least 8 years of experience with NoSQL, including MongoDB or DynamoDB
At least 8 years of experience with modern development tools and methodologies, including containerization, unit testing, GitLab, and CI/CD
At least 8 years of experience designing and implementing messaging-based architecture with RabbitMQ or similar tools
At least 8 years of experience implementing automated performance tests
At least 8 years of experience designing and implementing software security and authorization tools, including OAuth, Spring Security, or OpenID
At least 8 years of experience implementing and using Elasticsearch and the ELK stack
At least 8 years of experience performing code reviews for quality, security, performance, maintainability, and compliance with architectural and coding standards
At least 8 years of experience with object-oriented programming and analysis
At least 8 years of experience with relational database concepts and SQL
At least 8 years of experience designing and implementing multiple programming languages, including Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, PL/SQL, and Bash
At least 8 years of experience in Agile development environments
