About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead all food and beverage concession operations at Mesa Convention Center
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, and strong financial performance
- Supervise concessions employees in preparing and serving food and refreshments and cleaning up
- Assist in training concessions employees in food preparation and cooking
- Purchase refreshments according to anticipated demand and public tastes
- Direct storage, preparation, and serving of refreshments
- Assign concessions workers to locations
- Tabulate receipts and balance accounts
- Inventory supplies at the end of each day or designated period
- Work within food and labor cost guidelines
- Oversee concession staff, inventory management, product quality, purchasing, and event-day execution
- Maintain cost controls and profitability goals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university
- 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
- Previous management experience in a similar venue
- Demonstrated ability to control costs, generate increased revenue, and manage accounts payable/receivable and financial reporting
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Ability to train workers in preparation and cooking of foods to ensure high quality, efficient and profitable food service
- Ability to manage several direct reports
- Knowledge of computers
- Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
