About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and lighting systems throughout the venue
  • Ensure facility spaces, equipment, and utilities are fully functional and event-ready
  • Respond to work orders and maintenance requests in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot issues and document all repairs
  • Assist with setup, breakdown, and operational needs for concerts, games, and special events
  • Move equipment and make facility adjustments
  • Monitor building safety and report hazards
  • Ensure compliance with facility standards, codes, and preventive maintenance schedules
  • Maintain Mesa Convention Center as safe, functional, and event-ready

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical or vocational training in building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or related fields preferred
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in facility maintenance, building operations, or a similar technician role
  • Experience in a venue, arena, or stadium environment is a plus
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to safely use tools and equipment
  • Experience reading work orders, maintenance logs, and equipment manuals
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, event-driven environment with shifting priorities
  • Solid communication skills and ability to interact professionally with team members, vendors, and event staff
  • Capability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials as needed, including working at heights or in tight spaces
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Must work on site in Mesa, AZ
