About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, implement, and continuously optimize safety-stock strategies to ensure high spare-parts availability.
  • Manage and monitor inventory at the central warehouse and regional consignment warehouses, including regular stocktakes and the management of excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Work with suppliers, logistics service providers, and freight forwarders to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of spare parts.
  • Coordinate import, customs, and distribution processes and optimize the overall spare-parts logistics operation.
  • Process and fulfill spare-parts orders for internal and external customers and dealers—from order entry, picking, and shipping through to invoicing.
  • Analyze and monitor relevant KPIs, including fill rate, inventory turnover, inventory coverage, and warehousing costs, and implement appropriate optimization measures.
  • Further develop processes and standards for spare-parts master data, parts coding, price management, and returns and claims handling.
  • Work closely with Aftersales, Procurement, Logistics, Sales, and Finance to continuously improve spare-parts availability.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least five years of professional experience in spare-parts management, spare-parts logistics, or supply chain management—ideally in the automotive or commercial vehicle industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of spare-parts procurement, inventory management, import/export procedures, customs processes, and logistics.
  • Experience analyzing and optimizing inventory levels and managing logistics KPIs.
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured, solution-oriented approach to work.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with experience working with international suppliers and logistics partners.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience with ERP, warehouse management, or supply chain management systems.
  • Business-fluent German and very good written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of Chinese is an advantage.
