About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer contracts throughout their lifecycle, including acquisition, baseline management, execution, and closeout
- Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS, company policies, and contractual obligations
- Review, interpret, and negotiate contract terms and conditions
- Identify contractual risks and develop mitigation approaches to protect SAIC’s interests
- Maintain contract baselines, including deliverables, responsibilities, and key milestones
- Track, manage, and communicate contract changes, modifications, and obligations
- Support audits, contract data requests, and compliance assessments
- Support proposal activities with Program Managers, capture teams, and pricing analysts
- Draft proposal-specific terms and conditions and identify proposal risk areas
- Assist in negotiation and finalization of contract awards
- Develop negotiation positions and support resolution of contractual issues
- Negotiate terms and resolve disputes with federal clients
- Conduct program risk assessments and provide financial awareness to Program Managers
- Evaluate proposed contract changes and recommend revised positions
- Collaborate across SAIC to align proposal, contract, and program activities with business and financial objectives
- Communicate legal, financial, and programmatic topics to internal stakeholders and external customers
- Share best practices and contribute to process improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years or more of related federal contracts/contract management experience; master's degree and eight (8) years or more experience; or PhD/JD and five (5) years or more experience
- Four years of related professional experience may substitute for the degree requirement
- US citizenship
- Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) or Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) preferred
- Demonstrated experience negotiating and managing a variety of contract types, including FFP and FPIF, across federal programs
- Proficiency in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and federal procurement processes
- Ability to build stakeholder relationships, manage competing priorities, and support negotiations under tight deadlines
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to convey contractual and financial topics clearly to diverse audiences
- Ability to independently identify and resolve contractual issues while managing compliance and risk
