About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, implement, and/or maintain accounting systems
  • Use accounting and financial procedures to resolve problems and prepare recommendations for management based on financial results
  • Analyze current and past budgets, prepare and justify budget requests, and allocate funds according to spending priorities
  • Provide strategic planning and management support throughout the PPBE process for past, present, and future fiscal-year test and evaluation funding
  • Participate in the annual Task Planning Sheet (TPS) process by collecting funding requirements and entering them into NEPS
  • Prepare and execute funding documents in N-ERP
  • Track commitments, obligations, and expenditures for current and prior-year funding in N-ERP
  • Perform reconciliation actions to pull back expired funding to NAVSEA
  • Prepare and provide weekly and monthly financial reports for all programs
  • Respond to emergent data calls, funding drills, and other funding inquiries
  • Prepare contract modification files for ERP entry
  • Work with the PM and PC to develop cost estimates for stakeholders
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contract funds

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of experience
  • 5+ years of Navy Budgeting Experience preferred
  • Proficiency with DoD Financial Databases, specifically N-ERP, NEPS, and MISIL
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen with an active Secret Clearance
  • Familiarity with Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) contracts
  • Familiarity with Foreign Military Sales
  • Direct coordination with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), Program Manager (PM), and Program Control (PC)
