Key responsibilities & impact

Design and implement microservices using the Spring framework
Use Eclipse, VS Code, and Atlassian Suites for software design, development, and testing
Present solutions at formal and informal design reviews
Document designs according to the Government’s system lifecycle methodology
Design, develop, and document large-scale enterprise software systems
Develop and debug complex SQL queries
Wire code to perform efficient CRUD operations on relational and NoSQL databases

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related engineering field with 2+ years of technical experience
2+ years of Java J2EE/JEE design and software development experience, including designing, developing, and documenting large-scale enterprise software systems
2+ years of working with cloud applications using serverless hosted services such as AWS Lambda
Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, React, React-Native, and NodeJS
Experience developing microservices using Spring, primarily Spring Boot
Experience performing CRUD operations on Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB using JDBC, JPA, Hibernate, or similar technologies
Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DocumentDB, and DynamoDB
Ability to develop and debug complex SQL queries
Some experience and familiarity with Unix/Linux systems, commands, and shell scripting
Experience with object-oriented analysis and design techniques
High self-motivation and willingness to work in a distributed team environment
Ability to obtain and hold a public trust position and favorable suitability based on a CBP Background Investigation
Must be a US Citizen
Must be within the GWA/commutable area for on-site work in Ashburn, Virginia
Desired: Master’s degree in computer science or related field
Desired: Experience with large project teams, preferably with the Federal Government
Desired: Experience working on an agile team such as Scrum
Desired: Experience writing code interacting with AWS services such as S3, SQS, Lambda, ElastiCache, and MongoDB
Desired: Experience with Docker, Konvoy, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitLab, and monitoring tools
