About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop code according to project requirements
  • Design, develop, and unit test UI interfaces written in Angular and/or React
  • Use integrated development environment tools such as Visual Studio Code
  • Work with users in an Agile development approach to understand requirements
  • Elicit feedback and refine solutions through demonstrations
  • Provide application support during testing and production phases
  • Work with the lead to deploy code fixes as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS Degree in Computer Science and 1 year of relevant experience
  • Software development experience designing, developing, and documenting UI code as part of a large-scale software system
  • Demonstrated 2+ years of experience with React development
  • Experience with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AWS (EC2, S3, etc.), jQuery, Angular, React, Java, Spring Boot, SQL, XML, Unix/Linux, JDBC, JPA, Hibernate, and JSON
  • Understanding of browser-based debugging tools such as Chrome DevTools
  • Experience using debugging tools and methodologies for UI and component debugging
  • Experience interfacing with complex backend APIs
  • Ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative software solutions
  • Ability to obtain and hold a public trust position and favorable suitability based on a CBP Background Investigation
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must live within the GWA/commutable area for on-site work in Ashburn, VA
  • MS Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field is desired
  • React Native experience is a plus
  • Experience with Redux and RTK Query is desired
  • Recent relevant course projects, internships, co-ops, or personal work showcasing UI development skills are a plus
  • Agile development approach
  • Strong initiative and ability to clarify high-level requirements and complete work
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and problem-solving skills
