About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test procedures
Develop test plans, schedules, and approaches
Write test cases and scripts and identify data for test scenarios
Conduct walkthroughs of test cases/scripts with Test Managers, Requirement Leads, Project Managers, and Development Leads
Perform and lead software and IT systems testing to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects
Perform verification activities on work products using defined methods, procedures, criteria, and appropriate verification environments
Document and communicate test results
Support test-result analysis and resolution of open issues
Document and resolve complex problems
Report problem-resolution progress to management
Improve current procedures and develop models of possible future configurations
Create daily test metrics and reporting
Occasionally perform requirements, design, installation, operation, sustainment, and support activities for IT systems
Provide technical solutions to difficult problems and represent the organization on technical issues associated with specific projects
Contribute to completion of specific programs and projects
Provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance
Maintain frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years or more experience, or Master's degree and three (3) years or more experience
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
Proven track record working on complex software projects and ensuring high-quality deliverables
Experience in both manual and automated testing
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Proficiency in writing and executing test cases, test scripts, and test plans
Familiarity with CI/CD tools, such as GitHub Actions
Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git and SVN
Understanding of performance testing and tools, such as JMeter and Gatling
Familiarity with Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript
Experience with defect tracking and management tools, such as JIRA and Bugzilla
Experience testing COTS products
Understanding of security testing practices and tools
Knowledge of functional, regression, integration, system, usability, and UAT testing
Experience with test management tools
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
Strong understanding of risk-based, exploratory, and context-driven testing
US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Advanced testing or quality assurance certifications, Edifecs certification and experience, and cloud-based testing platforms are preferred or a plus
