About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop comprehensive customer requirements understanding and lead complete solution development for price-competitive proposals
Collaborate with business development, capture, proposal, and other teams to optimize proposed solutions
Identify technical staffing needs and coordinate technical personnel for proposal efforts
Coordinate technical leadership and contributors on solution development, proposal writing, and estimating
Provide subject matter expertise to meet customer technical, schedule, and cost requirements within risk parameters
Partner with the Enterprise Architect to design, implement, and govern secure, scalable, highly available Azure cloud architectures
Ensure architectures align with enterprise technology standards, business objectives, security requirements, and cloud governance best practices
Contribute to new concepts, techniques, and standards
Establish goals and provide guidance to team members
Develop innovative solutions to complex problems with substantial technical autonomy
Ensure solutions are consistent with organizational objectives and deliver against objectives and schedules

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree and 20 years’ experience, or master’s degree and 10 years’ experience, in computer science, systems engineering, cloud engineering, or a related technical discipline
Advanced Azure certifications are preferred, including Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, and Azure Security Engineer Associate
Proven track record designing, deploying, and managing Azure infrastructure and services
Experience with large-scale, high-availability, and scalable cloud architecture
Extensive expertise in Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Virtual Network, Azure Functions, Microsoft Entra ID, ARM templates, Azure Monitor, and Azure DNS
Experience with Azure security services, including Azure DDoS Protection, Azure Firewall, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and Web Application Firewall
Strong understanding of Azure networking, including VNet peering, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Private Link, and hybrid connectivity architectures
Experience governing multi-subscription Azure environments using Azure Management Groups, Azure Policy, and Azure Landing Zones
Knowledge of Azure Cost Management, budgeting, resource optimization, and cost governance
Proficiency in Python, Bash, PowerShell, Azure CLI, Node.js, and automation frameworks
Hands-on experience with ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform, and Azure Developer CLI
Expertise with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Microsoft Sentinel, and third-party monitoring platforms
Experience troubleshooting and optimizing Azure performance, availability, and reliability
Understanding of Azure security architecture, governance, compliance, HIPAA, GDPR, PCI DSS, and industry-specific standards
Experience with Azure Key Vault, encryption, key management, identity management, and privileged access controls
Knowledge of Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake Storage
Experience with database optimization, high availability, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery
Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and Azure Pipelines
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Container Apps, and Azure Container Instances
US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, prioritization, documentation, and technical leadership abilities
Ability to mentor technical teams, lead cloud transformation initiatives, collaborate cross-functionally, manage multiple complex projects, and stay current with Azure and cloud technologies
FHIR HL7 278/275 transaction experience is a plus
