About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop custom-coded tools that obtain data from other products through APIs and present it in custom-defined dashboards
  • Coordinate development work with developers and DBAs
  • Plan, implement, configure, and test code and integrate it into final products
  • Evaluate existing systems and recommend solutions meeting Department of State requirements
  • Work with network engineering and operations teams to obtain product data
  • Support the Department of State mission of managing network devices for over 100,000 customers globally
  • Build, design, test, and deploy monitoring and management systems for Cisco routers/switches, Microsoft servers and workstations, and monitoring products
  • Collaborate with technical SMEs on deployment
  • Participate in technical working groups and technical advisory boards when necessary
  • Document developed code and product usage parameters

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer science/computer engineering related discipline and 18+ years of experience; or Master’s and 16 years; additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
  • Experience implementing custom coded solutions in large enterprise/global networks
  • Solid understanding of end user security and authentication
  • In-depth experience with Visual Studio, SQL, C#, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience working directly with customers
  • US Citizen
  • Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
  • Preferred: hands-on experience integrating with network management, security, and monitoring tools including HP Network Automation, Micro Focus Network Automation, OpenText, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA, Red Seal, NetBrain, Cisco ISE, Niksun, and LiveAction
  • Preferred: VMWare experience
  • Preferred: experience with Cisco tools and network products
  • Preferred: experience with cloud technologies, Microsoft Azure/Amazon Web Services
  • Preferred: experience working in small teams of 3–5
