About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide full lifecycle Federal proposal support from content planning and template development through writing, editing, and submission
- Write and edit key proposal sections, including resumes, past performance, and narrative volumes
- Interview candidates and subject matter experts and engage fellow contributors to develop clear, concise, persuasive, compliant, and compelling proposal artifacts
- Ensure content is accurate, error-free, and aligned with RFx requirements, company processes, capture strategies, and industry best practices
- Peer review teammates’ work and participate in formal color reviews
- Coach and mentor junior and less experienced writers
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and apply analytical skills and proprietary AI tools to improve efficiency and proposal quality
- Potentially contribute to capture strategy development in its earliest stages
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA or BS degree or higher (or equivalent) in Journalism, English, Business, Information Technology, Communication Arts, or another relevant field and 6+ years of solid Federal proposal writing experience, or 4+ years of experience with a Masters Degree
- An additional 4+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Experience providing full lifecycle Federal proposal support, from content planning and template development through writing, editing, and submission
- Must be a US Citizen
- Experience writing proposals or technical documents for the Federal Government
- Strong writing, communications, English-language, grammar, critical-thinking, analytical, and technical comprehension skills
- Experience with resumes, past performance, and narrative volumes
- Desired: Experience with FEDSIM/AAS, OTA, and Self-Scoring bids
- Desired: Familiarity with AI tools for quality improvements and efficiency
- Desired: Knowledge of infrastructure modernization, applications/software development and sustainment, cloud solutions, warfighter solutions, and agile methodologies for defense, civilian, space, and national security sectors of the federal government
