About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the US Space Force and Space Systems Command in operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars
- Plan, develop, and deliver UEWR radar hardware and software modifications in response to engineering change requests and system deficiency reports
- Convert product requirements into total systems solutions within technical, schedule, and cost constraints
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies
- Translate customer and operational requirements into system hardware and software engineering specifications
- Provide information for selecting implementation techniques and tools to meet current and future capacity or capability requirements
- Manage large Agile or DevSecOps teams and projects, including cost estimating, risk management, schedule development, and execution
- Design, develop, deliver, and deploy engineered solutions following DoD life-cycle engineering processes and/or best practices
- Support delivery of new capabilities to UEWR operational sites
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years’ related experience
- Additional 4 years of experience accepted in lieu of degree
- Active Secret Clearance
- Experience with custom developed HW/SW, COTS/GOTS HW/SW, and/or specialty engineering
- Experience with configuration and data management
- Experience with hardware and software testing and evaluation of classified systems
- Expertise in at least one engineering field: software, hardware, network, cybersecurity, test, or systems
- Experience as a problem-solver and creative thinker with an outcome-focused mindset
- Desired: Experience sustaining UEWR, PARCS, PAVE PAWS, BMEWS, AN/TPY-2, COBRA DANE, LRDR, Aegis, or other radar systems
- Desired: Experience with large system-of-systems legacy architectures, technology modernization, and supportability risk mitigation
- Desired: Agile certification such as SAFe or SCRUM
- Desired: Experience with Jira, Confluence, DOORS, GitLab, Cameo, or similar tools
