About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Conduct user research and usability testing to ensure designs meet user and client requirements
Optimize services and products for a range of clients
Develop structural wireframes, mockups, and task flows for component-based front-end frameworks such as Angular and React
Partner with engineering teams to align wireframes with framework constraints and maximize component reusability
Deliver design handoffs, component specifications, and interactive prototypes mapped to front-end development structures
Develop and maintain design wireframes and specifications
Collaborate with visual designers and creative directors to incorporate brand identity
Communicate screen designs, interaction models, end-to-end experiences, and target audiences to project team members
Consider human-computer interface elements in designs
Compare existing application user experiences and design improved alternatives
Track industry trends and competitor products
Communicate design prototypes and ideas to developers
Work with development teams to implement attractive, consistent designs
Develop task flows and wireframes based on user needs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience
Ability to create designs from scratch and critique/improve designs
Experience with Figma and Framer for creating wireframes and prototypes
Previous development experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Strong understanding of UI/UX design patterns for Angular, Angular Material, and React
Expert proficiency with wireframing and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
Conceptual understanding of HTML5, CSS3/SASS, Flexbox/Grid, and responsive layouts
Experience with Adobe, Sketch, Jira, Confluence, and wireframing tools
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting concepts to project teams and clients
Familiarity with information architecture and interaction design
Background in project research and management
Strong portfolio of design projects
Understanding of typography rules and data visualization techniques
Self-motivated and able to take initiative
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and analytical capability
Strong writing and presentation skills
Flexibility to work in a constantly changing environment
Ability to obtain and hold a public trust position and favorable suitability based on a CBP Background Investigation
Must be a US Citizen
